Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimation for municipal civil infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, and bridges. You will develop bid strategies, produce full-cycle estimates, and collaborate with field and office teams to ensure cost certainty and procurement efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in commercial and civil construction estimating
• At least 5 years in a General Contracting environment
• Proven estimating success across Institutional, Commercial, Industrial, residential, healthcare, and recreational builds
• Advanced MS Excel and cost-estimating software skills; ability to read blueprints and specs
• Strong presentation and communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and execute winning bid strategies for profitable projects
• Produce full-cycle cost estimates from concept to tender using collaborative delivery
• Facilitate cost-alignment workshops with stakeholders
• Conduct exhaustive quantity take-offs for labor, materials, equipment, and sub-trades
• Maintain databases for unit pricing, labor rates, contingencies, and market escalation
• Procure quotes, negotiate with vendors/subcontractors, identify value engineering opportunities
• Support pre-construction with constructability insights and procurement planning
• Monitor budgets and provide variance analyses for future estimating improvements
• Build and sustain partnerships with clients, consultants, and suppliers
