Job summary

Blackline Civil, based in Alberta, is seeking a Civil Estimator for our Edmonton-area team to drive bid success on diverse civil projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, review drawings, and develop pricing for labour, equipment, and materials to support competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of civil estimating experience, with proven work in underground utilities, earthworks, and land development; you will interpret drawings and bid documents, analyze subcontractor

Qualifications

5+ years of civil estimating experience, senior-level preferred.
Experience with underground utilities, earthworks, and land development.
Strong understanding of civil construction methods and sequencing.
Proficient in estimating software and Excel.
Ability to interpret drawings and bid documents.
Excellent attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity take-offs
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Develop accurate pricing for labour, equipment, and materials
Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to support successful bids
