Job summary

Sifton Properties is seeking a Construction Coordinator, Land Operations to help coordinate neighbourhood land development construction from servicing to final buildout. You will work with contractors, municipalities, utilities, builders and homeowners to keep projects on schedule and up to approved standards.

The role requires a post‑secondary degree in civil engineering or related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering, land development or construction projects; Ontario experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interact with contractors, municipalities, utilities and service providers to support milestones.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office; CAD reading is a plus.
  • Ability to work in safety‑sensitive construction zones and travel to multiple project locations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver neighbourhood land development and construction projects per plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Assist with tendering activities, contractor coordination, and review of submissions.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, municipal standards, and subdivision agreements.
  • Coordinate with builders, contractors, utilities, and municipalities to support progress and lot grading compliance.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve deficiencies.
  • Track schedules, costs, deficiencies, and documents for municipal acceptance.
  • Support construction meetings, clearance docs and follow‑ups for active developments.
  • Review builder plans to ensure compliance with approved plans and restrictions.
  • Provide responsive service to builders, homeowners, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow health and safety policies in active construction environments.

About the Role
  • Support the coordination and delivery of neighbourhood land development and construction projects in accordance with approved plans, budgets, schedules, and municipal requirements.

  • Conduct site visits and neighbourhood inspections to monitor construction progress, identify deficiencies, and support issue resolution.
  • Track project schedules, costs, deficiencies, and documentation required for municipal acceptance and assumption.
  • Support construction meetings, clearance documentation, and follow-up activities related to active development projects.
  • Review builder plans and submissions to help ensure compliance with approved plans, agreements, and development restrictions.
  • Provide responsive and professional service to builders, homeowners, contractors, municipalities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures while working in active construction environments.
Experience
  • Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited Community College or University.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering, land development, or construction projects. Experience in Ontario land development would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with external contractors, consultants, utility providers, municipalities, and service providers to support project progress toward defined milestones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of project planning practices and software would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings as part of day‑to‑day work. The ability to amend drawings would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in safety‑sensitive construction zones, including around large machinery and heavy equipment, as required.
  • Self‑directed and flexible, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • This position is approximately 30% office/home‑based and 70% on‑site. Reliable transportation and a valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing are required to travel to multiple project locations throughout Southwestern Ontario.
