Job summary

Venters Recruits is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing team on high-profile commercial construction projects. You will support delivery from pre-construction through completion, working with project managers, site superintendents, and field teams.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of construction project experience, a relevant engineering or building technology degree, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction project experience or equivalent.
• Engineering degree or technical diploma in CM/CE/Building Tech/Architecture.
• Understanding of contracts, project financials, and administration.
• Knowledge of architectural and civil construction; MEP awareness.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Procore, Textura, Excel and MS Project is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and project team across all phases of construction.
• Collaborate with field teams to ensure clear communication and efficient execution.
• Identify potential project issues and develop effective solutions.
• Mentor Project Coordinators and support junior team development.
• Manage the RFI process and coordinate submittals.
• Prepare tender packages, scopes of work, and bid analyses.
• Analyze bids and review project costs.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and supporting docs.
• Assist with contract negotiations prior to award.
• Chair regular site meetings and distribute minutes.
• Monitor schedules and subcontractor performance; report concerns.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
