Job summary

Surrey Police Service is seeking a Constable for the Emergency & Operational Planning Unit (EOP) to contribute to planning, risk assessment, and coordination for major events and emergencies in Surrey. You will help develop coordinated responses, support deployment readiness, and work with diverse partners to ensure rapid, effective policing action.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in emergency planning or major event response.
• Familiarity with Incident Command Systems (ICS) and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of coordinated operational plans for major events and emergencies.
• Participate in pre-planning, execution, and post-event review of operational responses for large-scale events and emergencies.
• Represent the SPS with diverse stakeholders including event producers, volunteers, officials and first responders.
• Communicate effectively across ranks and with internal and external police units.
• Assist in threat and risk assessments to support resource planning and readiness.
• Contribute to operational plans, contingency plans, and logistical coordination for planned and unplanned events.
• Work with SPS units, municipal departments, and external partners to ensure integrated response.
• Support the Gold-Silver-Bronze Command framework as directed.
• Participate in training exercises to enhance emergency preparedness and business continuity.
• Collect and disseminate intelligence related to emerging threats or planned events.
• Foster positive relationships with community partners and emergency responders.
