Job summary

Edmonton Catholic Schools is inviting applications for the 2026–2027 school year from qualified candidates who hold a Conditional Teacher Certificate. The certificate authorizes teaching while completing the requirements for an Interim Professional Certificate and is intended for those assessed by Alberta Education who are eligible.

We seek Catholic teachers unless eligibility exceptions apply in CTS/CTF, Indigenous languages, languages, music, or substitute teaching.

• Must hold a Conditional Teacher Certificate from the Government of Alberta.
• All teachers are required to be Catholic unless specialized in CTS/CTF, Indigenous languages, or other noted areas.

Job description

The Conditional Teacher Certificate authorizes internationally educated teachers to teach professionally while completing the requirements for an Interim Professional Certificate. It is intended for those whose credentials have been assessed by the Office of the Registrar at Alberta Education and Childcare and who have been deemed eligible. It will allow those who plan to teach while completing the requirements for an Interim Professional Certificate to be employed in a teaching position in Alberta.

Edmonton Catholic Schools is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year from qualified candidates who hold a Conditional Teacher Certificate. Applications are accepted and interviews are conducted for teaching positions throughout the calendar year.

Edmonton Catholic Schools requires all teachers to be Catholic unless specialized in the following areas:

• Career and Technology Studies (CTS) and Career and Technology Foundations (CTF)
• Lived Indigenous Experiences
• Languages (Cree, French, Spanish, and Ukrainian)
• Music (Elementary and Secondary)
• Substitute Teaching
