Job summary

Hirsch Creek Concrete is seeking several full-time Concrete Ready-Mix Drivers to support operations in and near Kitimat, BC. The successful will have strong familiarity with concrete plant operations and experience in Ready-mix truck operation; experience with precast concrete products as well given preference.

Will be responsible to ensure equipment is maintained and operated safely at all times and that paperwork is completed accurately and in timely manner.

Qualifications

• Experience safely driving heavy trucks for multiple years.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with customers.
• Understand and follow company policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Slump, deliver and discharge concrete to a wide range of contractors or customers.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operates safely; complete paperwork accurately and promptly.

Will be responsible to ensure equipment is maintained and operated safely at all times and that paperwork is completed accurately and in timely manner.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience safely driving heavy trucks for multiple years, proven communication and problem solving skills while working with customers, understand and follow Company policies and procedures, possess a solid knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations and some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.

Their role is to be the Company representative as they slump, deliver and discharge high quality concrete to a wide variety of different contractors or customers

This is a seasonal full time position based in Kitimat, BC and is not a rotational camp position.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Setup and break down of equipment for concrete pours
• The applicant must be able to lift and move product sometimes involving strenuous labour.
• Will be required to maintain necessary logs, driving records and MOT certifications.
• Complete Daily pre trip inspections and cleanout procedures of vehicle.
• Must have a valid Class 3 drivers license with air brake endorsement
• Perform a variety of tasks as needed when not delivering concrete; ensuring equipment is maintained and in good operating order

• Complete driving assignments in a timely and safe manner.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Able to work in adverse weather, overtime and weekends if required.
• Follow and adhere to all the Company’s safety procedures and directives.
• Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision; conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times
