About the Job

A-1 Cement is seeking a concrete repair technician. A skilled tradesperson with knowledge and experience in concrete repair, concrete cutting and breaking out.

Serving as concrete contractors in Calgary and surrounding areas, we specialize in the management and installation of concrete flatworks for home builders, homeowners and commercial builders. Since 1956, A-1 Cement has been a leader in concrete flatworks and gravel services. Who you are

• You are experienced in the concrete industry and have a wide variety of trade experience.
• You have experience with many types of concrete repair including patching, skimming, resurfacing.
• You have a great understanding of residential construction practices and quality standards.
• You are professional, personable, and strive to provide high quality work.
• You must have a valid drivers license and clean driving abstract is required.
• Nice to have
• relevant education in concrete flatworks.
• Nice to have
• concrete placing and finishing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess work orders according to the Alberta Legislation Guidelines
• Meet with customers and communicate who will be responsible for repairs
• Maintain good relationships with customers
• Skillfully complete the repairs required
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental procedures on site are adhered to in accordance with legislation and company policies

Personal Attributes and Qualifications

• Trained on the use of power tools and physically capable of operating heavier duty tools, such as a drill core machine and floor grinder
• Ability to work independently and, if necessary, in a team environment
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor
