Ubisoft Entertainment seeks a skilled Concept Artist to join their artistic team in Toronto. The role involves collaborating with the Art Director to create visually engaging characters and environments, while adhering to artistic and technical guidelines. Qualified candidates should have a college diploma in Fine Arts, along with at least 5 years of industry experience and skills in digital painting and 3D software, including 3DsMax and Adobe Suite.
The incumbent will lay the groundwork for the artistic team to create characters and environments that will engaged the players.
They will provide the artwork that will serve as references and guide the visual styling throughout production as all artists work towards a common goal.
The main and routine tasks of this position are to:
Training:
A college diploma in Fine Arts or equivalent.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in concept art in the video game industry.
Skills and knowledge:
Two of Ubisoft's most recent games, Just Dance 2023 Edition and Roller Champions, have leaned heavily into a futuristic aesthetic in their characters' costumes, and each has a very specific vision of what that "future" looks like.
