Job summary

DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company, seeks a Compounding Technician to process batches at our Etobicoke facility. The role involves operating kettles, pumps, and scales, assembling and sanitizing equipment, and following GMP and SOPs.

You will also maintain clean work areas and document batch records. Ideal candidates have strong English communication, solid math skills, and the ability to read and follow written instructions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Operate compounding equipment, kettles, pumps, agitators, hoists, and scales.
  • Familiar with 5S and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong English communication skills and solid math abilities.
  • Able to read, understand, and follow written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Process batches within specifications to meet targets and schedules.
  • Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and assemble processing equipment per SOPs and GMP.
  • Compound aqueous-based, O/W, W/O, and anhydrous formulations per Master Formulations.
  • Pre-weigh tasks and dispense raw materials safely as needed.
  • Conduct calibration checks on scales and collect product samples.
  • Maintain sanitation of batching kettles and related equipment.
  • Complete GMP documentation accurately and timely.
  • Keep the work area organized and store equipment properly.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Compounding Technician to help process batches.

This is a full-time role based out of our 123 Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base hourly pay for this position is $21.50 to 23.00 an hour.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.

Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
  • Process batches within specifications to meet department batch execution targets, ensuring optimal cycle time and schedule adherence.
  • Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and assemble processing equipment in compliance with SOPs and GMP requirements to meet changeover and productivity goals.
  • Compound batches, including aqueous-based, O/W, W/O, and anhydrous formulations, following SOPs and Master Formulations.
  • Perform pre-weigh tasks as required, verify pre-weighed raw materials, and safely dispense raw materials when necessary.
  • Conduct calibration checks on scales.
  • Collect representative samples from product batches.
  • Clean and sanitize batching kettles and related equipment according to SOPs if required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE (respirators, face shields, safety glasses, etc.), and report workplace injuries or accidents to Supervisors.
  • Complete GMP documentation, including batch records, and other required documents in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the compounding as well as working area, ensuring proper storage of pipes, hoses, clamps, gaskets, and other processing equipment.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • Ability to operate various compounding equipment, including fully and semi-automatic kettles, pumps, agitators, hoists, and scales
  • Familiarity with 5S processes and Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Strong English communication skills and solid math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and fractions)
  • Proven ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions with minimal supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of equipment operation
