Our Local Programs and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in the countries where we operate.
We are hiring a highly motivated Compliance Senior Manager, reporting to the CCO of Crypto.com Canada. This highly visible role is responsible for the development and maintenance of our compliance program and providing effective solutions to support our fast-paced growth. Fully remote position for Canadian residents only. Responsibilities
- Proactively lead compliance efforts, aligning with Canada’s Securities regulations stipulated in the National Instrument, and ensure compliance with our Restricted Dealer and Marketplace registration and accompanying exemptive relief decisions.
- Lead efforts to prepare Crypto.com Canada for CIRO membership, including updating compliance policies and procedures in accordance with CIRO’s requirements.
- Provide ongoing updates to Crypto.com Canada’s Senior Management regarding the compliance program.
- Ensure appropriate escalation of compliance incidents or material issues to the CCO and UDP.
- Manage the development and execution of relevant compliance training.
- Ensure policies and procedures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Product and Finance teams, to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Advise stakeholders on product development to strengthen registration obligations.
- Oversee complaints and marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
- Manage registration processes for both the firm and individual representatives.
- Assist the CCO with regulatory exams, meetings, and engagements (e.g., OSC, CIRO, OFSI, FINTRAC).
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with relevant National Instruments applicable to Crypto Trading Platforms, including familiarity with CIRO (formerly IIROC) requirements and best practices.
- Resident in Canada.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory, risk, governance, and infrastructure challenges related to digital assets, securities, custody, and onboarding of digital asset FIs and CTPs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build internal relationships, collaborating cross-functionally.
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders for well-considered decisions that are operationally feasible.
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, conflict, and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Proven leadership to drive results through people, communication, and influence.
- Experience working with product and tech teams on tool implementations.
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and people-focused.
- Hold or be willing to obtain registration as an Approved Person under CIRO (fka IIROC).
- Willing to register as a Dealing Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission or obtain such registration.
