Job summary

Excel Society is seeking a Health Care Aide to support clients on Saturdays, 7am to 7pm, with biweekly 24-hour coverage in Edmonton. You will follow care plans, prepare meals, assist with medications, and manage household tasks with attention to safety and documentation.

This role requires compassion, reliability, and strong communication with families and the care team. You will maintain records, provide emotional support, assist with hygiene, and help coordinate appointments and activities,

Qualifications

• HCA certificate from Alberta health Services recognised institution.
• Maintain First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Satisfactory current criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Follow client care plan and deliver high quality care.
• Prepare meals and snacks per meal plan.
• Assist with medications using Catalyst system and Excel policies.
• Perform general household duties including cleaning, laundry, snow removal, gardening.
• Maintain/update documentation like scorecards and medical records.
• Assist clients with hygiene and personal care.
• Provide emotional support and de-escalation as needed.
• Support clients in attending appointments and activities.
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns to supervisor; accompany to appointments.
• Liaise with families, guardians, professionals, and support networks.
