Job summary

The Salvation Army International is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) in Edmonton. Under the direction of the LPN and Residential Care Manager, you assist residents with personal care and daily living activities while following care plans and infection control practices.

You will document health signs, help with transfers, meal service, and medication assistance, and support a home-like environment. Required: Grade 12, HCA program, Alberta HCA Registry, CPR/First Aid, and a vulnerable‑sector

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Alberta HCA Registry.
• Graduate of a Certified Health Care/Personal Care/Nursing Care Aide program.
• Medication administration certification and CPR/AED.
• Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess residents and contribute to care plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Deliver medications as outlined in policy and document findings.
• Maintain documentation on Resident Health Records and reports.
• Adhere to OH&S standards and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Communicate with LPN, residents, families, and external providers as required.
