Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team in Ontario. You will serve meals to residents, assist with setup and service, and help maintain dining and kitchen areas. The role includes supporting catering and special events, orientation of new staff, and adherence to health and safety policies.

Eligibility includes a Food Handler's Certificate and current or enrolled in a Food Service Worker Training Program. A second language is an asset.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Preference for experience in food service with seniors.
• Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Willing to obtain Vulnerable Sector Check / Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating as required.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
