Job summary

E4c is hiring a Community Support Worker in Edmonton to provide recovery‑oriented, relationship‑based support within long‑term housing programs. The role focuses on wellness, stability, and community integration for residents facing mental health, addiction, and trauma challenges.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, help residents develop daily living skills, and contribute to care plans while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • 3+ years of direct service experience in diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide relationship-based, trauma-informed support to residents to promote wellness and recovery.
  • Assist with life skills including cooking, medication management, communication, conflict resolution, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement resident care plans and wellness goals.
  • Foster a safe, respectful environment and community-building activities.
  • Assist with meal planning and maintaining supplies in alignment with program standards.
  • Support community development and engagement with residents and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate communication, documentation and compliance with health and safety standards.

Position Summary

The Community Support Worker provides individualized, recovery-oriented support to residents within e4c’s long-term supported housing programs. Working with individuals experiencing mental health, addiction, and trauma-related challenges, the role promotes stability, wellness, and community integration through a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach.

The Community Support Worker collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support resident goals, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and contribute to effective program delivery.

Schedule
  • 4 days on 2 days off rotation; 3:00PM – 11:30PM
  • This is a shift working position and schedule may vary according to program needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide relationship-based, trauma-informed support to residents, promoting wellness, recovery, and daily living skills development.
  • Support residents with life skills learning, including cooking, medication management, communication, conflict resolution, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and healthcare partners to implement and support resident care plans and wellness goals.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment through positive role modeling, supportive communication, and community-building activities.
  • Assist with meal planning, food preparation, and maintaining food and wellness supplies in alignment with nutritional and program standards.
  • Support community development initiatives by organizing activities, encouraging resident participation, and building positive relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate communication, documentation, and administrative processes while ensuring compliance with organizational, health, and safety standards.
Qualifications
Education
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Services, Education or related field.
Certification
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Suicide Intervention
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.

Experience
  • 3+ years of direct service experience supporting diverse communities with complex and varied needs.

  • Strong knowledge and application of harm reduction, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based practices.
Compensation And Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: $47,677.50
