Job summary

The HOME Society in Abbotsford, BC seeks a Community Support Worker to provide a home-like, supportive environment at Bradner Home. You will help individuals reach their fullest potential, build warm, personal relationships, and involve families while ensuring safety and well-being as the priority.

This temporary, 40-hour-per-week position requires a clear criminal record check, First Aid/CPR, Food Safe Certification, a valid Class 4 or 5 driver’s license, and supervisory references.

Qualifications

• Clear Criminal Record Check through Ministry of Public Safety and Justice Adult Care or Community Care First Aid/CPR
• Food Safe Certification
• Valid class 4 or 5 drivers license
• Favorable and current Drivers Abstract
• Minimum of two work related references (Supervisory)
• Describe your education. IE: Degrees, diplomas, certifications, training seminars.
• Rate your proficiency in spoken and written English
• Outline your employment history with HOMES

Job description

Responsible for providing a home-like, comfortable environment in the
Individual setting. Also ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to develop to
the fullest extent of his/her abilities and desires. They will establish a warm and personal
relationship with each individual living in the home and encourage the active
participation of parents, siblings, and friends in each person’s life while keeping the
Individual’s safety and well-being the priority at all times.
