Job summary

CareKW is seeking qualified Community RN/RPN nurses to provide in-home overnight support in Petersburg, Ontario. We welcome candidates from a variety of nursing backgrounds and training experiences.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessments, and education for patients and families. Requires CNO registration and CPR/First Aid; a valid license and access to a vehicle are preferred; must be available every other weekend to support community needs.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to document patient care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Routine shift activities may include: medication administration, suctioning, enteral feeding support, and activities of daily living assistance.
• Perform head-to-toe physical patient assessments each shift.
• Provide patient and family health teaching regarding client condition.
• Monitor and document changes in patient condition and collaborate with the care team.
• Deliver patient- and family-centred care; follow the plan of care as directed by the Community Nursing Manager.

Attention all RN/RPNs we have a position for you! We are looking for qualified Community RPN/RN nursing professionals to provide in-home overnight support in the Petersburg area.

Shift Details:

• Pay Range: $34.85 - $37.95 per Hour
• Location: Petersburg
• Schedule:
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday - 11PM-7AM
  • Week 2: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday- 11PM -7AM

Responsibilities:

• Routine shift activities may include: Medication administration, tracheostomy or oral suctioning, enteral feeding support (g-tube feeds), assist with activities of daily living
• Perform physical patient assessments each shift (head-to-toe, respiratory, GI/GU, abdominal, cardiac)
• Perform patient and family health teaching regarding client condition
• Monitor, assess, and document changes in the patient’s condition
• Collaborate with the inter-professional healthcare team to determine and implement the patient plan of care
• Provide patient and family-centred care
• Additional tasks as assigned by Community Nursing Manager

Role Requirements:

• Current registration with the CNO, candidate must be in good standing
• Valid work/study permit (if applicable)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Complete immunization record (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B)
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Screen (within 3 months of hire)
• Strong documentation and clinical skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Access to a vehicle is considered an asset
• Must be available every other weekend
