Job summary

The Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team is seeking dedicated individuals to supervise and deliver high quality programs, events and services, while connecting with our community.

The Successful Candidate Will supervise drop-in programs, maintain safety, assist with set up, respond to emergencies and provide excellent customer service during evenings, weekends and special events from November 21, 2026 to March 31, 2027.

Qualifications

• Ability to engage with participants and parents in a courteous manner.
• Strong organizational and facilitation abilities to run programs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and facilitate drop-in programs in a safe and inclusive manner.
• Monitor patron behaviour and address rule infractions with clear communication.
• Set up and take down equipment for each program and ensure proper use of facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and perform minor first aid as needed, documenting incidents.
• Answer inquiries from the public and participants with professional service.
• Enforce health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
