Qualifications

• Completion of High School, Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Diploma or certification in related subjects an asset. Experience in field an asset.
• WHMIS and Universal Precautions Training
• Online New Hire Health and Safety courses
• Naloxone Training
• Link 2 Feed Super User Training
• Other training as required by contract or The Salvation Army
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
• Food Safe Level I
• First Aid Certification
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Valid Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
• Immunization for Hepatitis B, and vaccination against Tuberculosis – suggested
• Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities

• Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.
• Willing to facilitate spiritual care of staff and guests, including leading grace for meals at Center of Hope.
• Gives support to all community ministries programs which include Centre of Hope Programs, Lunch and dinner programs, Family Services Programs, Third-Party Administration, Income Tax, Christmas Campaign.
• Schedules and organizes volunteers for dinner service.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to food safety regulations.
• Receives and sorts non-monetary donations; maintains clean and orderly spaces.
