Job summary

North End Community Health Centre in Halifax is seeking a Physiotherapist to join the Brunswick Street and NECHC collaborative primary health teams. The PT will work with a broad team of physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other staff, plus an additional 0.5 FTE clinic physiotherapist.

They will offer individual and group physiotherapy to clients who access the NECHC, MOSH, Brunswick Street and Overlook services, with some home visits and collaboration with community agencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy required.
• Current NS Physiotherapy registration and eligibility for CPA membership.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar, multi-demand role.
• Experience with NECHC priority populations (2SGDT+, ANS, Indigenous).
• Understanding of racism and discrimination impacts access to care.
• Not-for-profits/health care experience preferred.
• Experience working in collaborative practice settings.
• Experience with poverty and homelessness; social determinants of health.
• Valid NS driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide physiotherapy within collaborative primary health teams.
• Offer individual and group physiotherapy as needed.
• Collaborate with staff, community agencies and systems (health, justice, income assistance).
• Occasional home visits or visits to community sites.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy

Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy

Eligibility for membership in Canadian Physiotherapy Association

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Experience with priority populations (2SGDT+, ANS, Indigenous communities)

Understanding of how racism, colonization and discrimination influence health care access

Experience in not-for-profits or health care setting (preferred)

Experience in collaborative practice settings

Experience with poverty/homelessness and social determinants of health

Valid Class 5 NS driver’s license with clean record and access to reliable vehicle
