Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Community Occupational Therapist in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on a contract basis.

The role involves comprehensive OT services in clients’ homes, including assessment, treatment planning, education, and discharge planning under supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager. The ideal candidate holds a Masters in Occupational Therapy, is registered and in good standing with the provincial College, and has in-home assessment experience.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy (or recognized equivalent).
• Registered and in good standing with provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
• Experience with in-home assessments and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation/revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
• Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Occupational Therapists.
• Collaborates with other members of the health team as needed.
• Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
• Observes the performance of those assisting in the Occupational Therapy program and provides guidance as necessary.
• Maintain active standing in College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
• Adhere to Bayshore Healthcare / Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
