Job summary

Victoria Cool Aid Society is seeking a Senior Cook to join a modern, well-equipped kitchen. The role involves preparing daily nutritious meals while upholding sanitation standards across Crosstown and The Lily locations in Victoria.

You will work 37.5 hours weekly, Tuesday to Saturday, with shifts 10:00 am–6:00 pm; union BCGEU; full-time, permanent employment; benefits include comprehensive health coverage and pension plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ related kitchen experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience considered.
• Completed Grade 12 along with a recognized twelve (12) month program in cooking.

The Senior Cook works as part of a collaborative and dynamic team in a new, modern, well-equipped commercial kitchen in order to prepare daily nutritious meals while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in eating and prep areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Three (3) years’ related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education training and experience will also be considered.
• Completed Grade 12 along with a recognized twelve (12) month program in cooking.

Requirements

• Food Safe Level 1 and Level 2.
• Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.

Job Information

Hourly Wage Rate: $29.22– $33.54.

Days of Work: Tuesday to Saturday.

Shift Time: Tuesday and Wednesday at Crosstown from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm., and Thursday to Saturday at The Lily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Total Weekly Hours: 37.50.

Union: BCGEU.

Work Location: 560 Burnside Road East - Crosstown and at 953 Balmoral Rd - The Lily.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
