Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program with a focus on Public Policy, Political Science or related disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Interest in public policy and understanding of current events.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Professional judgment with the ability to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Review and research public policy, regulatory and legislative issues which may impact Canadian Natural’s operations.
  • Help identify and evaluate advocacy and engagement opportunities that fit within Canadian Natural’s government relations strategy.
  • Work with internal regulatory team to identify and highlight policy and regulatory initiatives which may impact Canadian Natural.
  • Develop materials to assist with advocacy and engagement.
  • Update and maintain the Government Relations files.
  • Research and prepare memos and other briefing notes detailing policy or other government regulation or legislation.
  • Support the team with preparing advocacy materials, including PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and word documents, and providing vacation coverage.

  • Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
  • Term length:4 months
  • Term start:May 2027
  • Safety sensitive position: No
