Job summary

Qualifications

• Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary program.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Physically able to perform the duties of the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance and support to clients and their caregivers/families.
• Promote and maximize independence in the home setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living and delegated tasks as directed.

Skills

Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively

Physically able to perform the duties of the job

Education

Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate

Food Safe Certificate

Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
