Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The role involves providing personal care assistance and support to clients and their families to promote independence in the home setting, including assistance with activities of daily living and delegated tasks, as directed and in accordance with established plans of care.

Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements, potentially including the use of a personal vehicle. A valid BC Driver's License is required.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

• Home Support/Resident Care Attendant/Health Care Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary program or equivalent experience.
• Food Safe Certificate.
• Valid BC Driver's License.
• Current registration and good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
