Job summary

Leq’á:mel First Nation in Deroche, BC is seeking a compassionate Community & Public Health Registered Nurse to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, client-centred nursing services to individuals, families, and the community.

The RN will perform assessments, immunizations, health education, and care planning, while supervising the LPN and Home Health Aide and coordinating with partners to promote continuity of care and positive health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and current BC RN registration.
• Minimum two years of recent experience in public health, community health, or home care nursing.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with computers and common office software, including Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care in accordance with BCCNM and LFN policies.
• Conduct nursing assessments, develop and evaluate client-centred care plans, provide follow-up, and monitor outcomes.
• Provide community-based nursing services through clinics, home visits, telephone support, and outreach.
• Provide immunizations and support health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to LPN and Home Health Aide; delegate duties as appropriate.
• Maintain individualized care plans and ensure documentation is accurate and confidential.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and transitions between care settings; participate in quality improvement.
