Job summary

Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority invites applications for a Part Time Aide - Community Assistant based out of Nibinamik (Summer Beaver). The position supports allied health services and administers the Community Health Hub, including transport logistics, client bookings, and follow‑up under supervision of health care professionals.

The role reports to the Manager – Clinical, Developmental Services and Community Coordinators, with preference for Indigenous applicants.

Qualifications

• First Nations ancestry preferred (OHRC).
• Must live in the listed First Nation community.
• Partial high school education or equivalent.
• One year of experience with health or education providers.
• Valid full G-class driving license.
• Professional integrity and confidentiality are essential.
• Strong organization and scheduling skills.
• Familiar with Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat; able to use internet tools.
• Willing to share knowledge and culture of First Nations communities.
• Ability to advocate for community health priorities.

Responsibilities

• Organize pick up/drop off of staff at the airport.
• Coordinate bookings for the Community Health Hub and manage keys.
• Clean and maintain the building per LOA with the community.
• Ensure supplies are ordered and maintenance requests are processed.
• Access Wellsky travel coordination and Mustimuhw health records.
• Support and carry out therapy plans for clients.
• Monitor progress and document findings or report with staff.
• Identify new clients and make referrals as needed.
• Assist with coordinating clinics and home visits for visiting professionals.
• On‑the‑job training and service support provided.
