Placements24 is supporting a community-focused organization in Kimberley, Northern Cape, seeking a Community Health Advocate to connect residents with health services and promote preventive care. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community health work or related field.
• Proven experience in community outreach and engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; empathetic approach.
• Understanding of public health principles and local health issues in SA.
• Ability to balance remote coordination with in-person community work.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Basic data collection and reporting understanding.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate access to healthcare services for community members via information and referrals.
• Conduct health education workshops and awareness campaigns on nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention.
• Build trust with community members and local leaders.
• Identify community health needs and barriers to care.
• Support implementation of community-based health programs and initiatives.
• Collect feedback from the community regarding health services and programs.
• Collaborate with local healthcare providers, clinics, and stakeholders.

This role is pivotal in connecting communities with essential health services, promoting preventative health practices, and supporting local health initiatives. Based in Kimberley, Northern Cape , this position operates on a Hybrid model, combining remote coordination and resource development with essential in-person outreach and community engagement. You will act as a vital link between healthcare providers and the communities they serve, ensuring accessibility and understanding. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, empathy, and a foundational understanding of public health principles relevant to South Africa .

Key Responsibilities
