Job summary

House of Friendship is hiring a Grounds Light Maintenance Worker to support indoor and outdoor custodial tasks and minor maintenance for our program sites in Waterloo Region. The role is full-time on-site, with daytime hours and travel between locations.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of building maintenance experience, Grade 12, and a valid G-class license. You will work respectfully with program participants and maintain safe, clean facilities while supporting maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks (mowing, trimming, raking, snow removal).
• Keep grounds and exterior areas clean, safe and presentable.
• Clean common and staff spaces and treatment areas.
• Engage program participants in cleaning activities and guidance.
• Address behavioural concerns and assist with risk mitigation for safety.
• Support maintenance staff in tenant and participant spaces and perform minor indoor tasks.
