POSTING # 25-06-04POSITION TYPE PERMANENT, FULL-TIMEBackground: The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. is seeking an individual for the Team Lead position with our Larsen Community Care Site. The successful candidate will assume and be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Neighborhood Site. The Team Lead assumes all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Centre’s philosophy, direction and policy standards.Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous non-mandated organizations;
• Knowledge of Child Welfare legislation, standards and regulations;
• Strong understanding of community capacity building models of practice;
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances require;
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times;
• Must be able to work closely with other staff, volunteers and the community in a positive, practical manner;
• Strong motivational and leadership skills;
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff, other agencies and the general public;
• A team player/facilitator in order to encourage an environment that fosters effective results in teams;
• Confident and positive in order to engage families in the helping relationship process or in order to support, motivate and encourage others to make positive choices;
• Maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative;
• Ability to work under stressful conditions;
• Must provide current (within the last three months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search, Child Abuse Registry check and be subject to a Prior Contact Check;
• Valid First Aid / CPR Certification;
• Valid Class 5 drivers’ license and must have access to vehicle.
