Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government is seeking a Community-Based Researcher Project Lead to guide communityengagement and research initiatives. The role centers on developing workplans, conducting background research, and supporting negotiations projects within the Executive Office of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government.
The successful candidate will contribute to evidence-based decision making, align with Mi’gmaq protocols, and advance governance, land stewardship, and related initiatives.

Term: Fixed-Term with the possibility of becoming full-time.
Accountable to: Executive Office – Senior Researcher

The Community-Based Researcher Project Lead will lead and support the development and implementation of community-based engagements, support the development and implementation of workplans, and conduct background research for negotiations projects within the Executive Office of the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government (LMG).
This position will contribute to evidence-based inclusive decision making for initiatives that advance Mi’gmaq models of governance, Indigenous-based laws, and land stewardship. This position will seek to carry out activities guided by Indigenous (Mi’gmaq) protocols and principles and grounded in the reality and needs of Listuguj community. Specific projects that this position will support and/or lead include, but are not limited to the Listuguj Land Code, Battle of the Restigouche Initiative, Law Making Project, and Self-Governance. The Community-based Researcher and Project Lead works with the negotiation team under the general supervision of the Senior Researcher.
