Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Communications Student for a 4‑month internship starting January 2027. You will develop proposals, craft marketing content, and help coordinate client, community, and employee events while researching markets and opportunities.

The role offers hands-on experience on real projects, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams across operations, leadership, marketing and business development.

Qualifications

• Strong written communication and collaboration skills.
• Competency with Microsoft Office products.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.
• Knowledge and/or previous experience with Canva.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance at the Reliability Status level.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Create content for newsletters, social media, websites, and internal communications.
• Support the coordination of client, community, and employee events.
• Conduct research on clients, markets, and industry opportunities.
• Support business development and relationship-building activities.
• Help manage schedules, communications, and project deliverables across multiple initiatives.
• Work with diverse teams including operations, leadership, marketing, business development, and community partners.

Responsibilities

Join us as a Communications Student for our Ottawa district, within our Canadian Buildings sector for 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Communications Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Support the development of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.

Qualifications

Working towards a degree or diploma in any of the following:

Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English Literature, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Business Administration (with a communications or marketing focus)
