Job summary

Paladin Canada is seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our Community & External Engagement team. This role focuses on storytelling, stakeholder engagement, media relations, digital communications, and community outreach to communicate the positive impact of our projects and strengthen relationships with Indigenous Nations and communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal and external communications materials, including newsletters, fact sheets, presentations, website content, social media posts, and project updates.
• Support community engagement and Indigenous relations activities through the creation of communication materials and stakeholder information resources.
• Assist with media relations activities, including media releases, key messages, briefing materials, and responses to inquiries.
• Manage and update website and social media content to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging communications.
• Coordinate photography, videography, graphic design, and other communications service providers.
• Support sponsorship, community investment, and public information initiatives.
• Assist with planning and execution of community meetings, open houses, conferences, trade shows, and stakeholder events.
• Monitor media coverage and communications trends and provide reporting and recommendations.
• Support issues management and crisis communications planning activities.

Description

Paladin Canada is seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our Community & External Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys storytelling, stakeholder engagement, media relations, digital communications, and community outreach. Working collaboratively across the organization, you will help communicate the positive impact of our projects, strengthen relationships with communities and Indigenous Nations, and support corporate communications initiatives that advance our business objectives.

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, the Communications Specialist supports the development and delivery of communications, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs initiatives that enhance Paladin Canada's reputation and support the advancement of the Patterson Lake South Project.

Working closely with internal teams, Indigenous Nations, community organizations, government representatives, industry partners, and other external stakeholders, this role develops engaging communications content and supports meaningful engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute internal and external communications materials, including newsletters, fact sheets, presentations, website content, social media posts, and project updates.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education

• Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Affairs, or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience

• 5 to 8 years of experience in communications, public relations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in mining, energy, natural resources, infrastructure, or other regulated industries is considered an asset.
• Experience supporting Indigenous engagement, community relations, or project communications initiatives is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate technical information into accessible content.
• Experience developing content for digital, print, and social media platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and social media platforms.
• Graphic design, photography, video production, and content management system experience are considered assets.
• Willingness to travel periodically within Saskatchewan.
