Job description

Shape CPA Ontario's voice through strategic communications

CPA Ontario is not like other organizations

We operate at a rare intersection, both regulator and membership body, responsible for upholding the integrity of the CPA designation while supporting more than 105,000 members and 19,000 students across the province. Our work sits between business and the public interest, between the evolving demands of industry and the standards that make trust possible.

Careers built here tend to look different because the work itself is different. You are not simply contributing to an organization. You are helping shape a profession that touches nearly every sector of the economy at a moment when expectations, technology, and the nature of work are all being rewritten.

About This Opportunity:

As Communications Manager, you will lead the development and execution of dynamic internal and external communications programs, bringing together exceptional storytelling, modern communication strategies and data‑driven insights to deliver measurable results. This is an opportunity for a creative and strategic communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, stays ahead of emerging trends and is passionate about building meaningful connections through compelling content and innovative engagement approaches.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develop compelling communications materials including executive speeches, member and student communications, social media content, key messages, reports and briefing materials that align with the organization’s voice and brand.
  • Lead communications projects from strategy through execution, partnering with cross‑functional teams to develop communications plans that support business goals and deliver measurable engagement results.
  • Provide strategic communications guidance and support for marketing campaigns, events and organizational initiatives to strengthen stakeholder engagement and reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal design, digital and agency partners to create high‑quality communications deliverables across multiple channels.
  • Monitor and manage sensitive or complex issues, developing timely and strategic responses that protect and enhance the organization’s reputation.
To Be Successful You Need:
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in communications, public relations or corporate communications within an agency or corporate environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling communications that engage diverse audiences and strengthen organizational reputation.
  • Proven success developing and executing strategic communications plans, managing projects end‑to‑end and delivering results in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
  • Strong relationship‑building, collaboration and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Digital‑savvy, proactive and adaptable, with strong judgment, problem‑solving abilities and a passion for driving engagement and meaningful impact.
Why Join CPA Ontario?
  • We support your well‑being through industry‑leading benefits, mental health resources, savings programs, and a sustainable approach to how work gets done.
  • We are committed to inclusion as a core part of how we operate, not as an afterthought.
  • We have a hybrid working environment, with three days a week on‑site, complemented by 2 days of work‑from‑home time. We are intentional about that: the work we do benefits from being together. We want those days you work from home to be comfortable and offer a one‑time bonus towards a home office when you start.
  • We invest in your growth through learning and professional development opportunities, stretch projects, secondments, and genuine paths for career progression.
  • We move quickly. The pace reflects the profession we serve; it can be demanding, but the work matters, and the team around you is invested in the same outcomes you have.
Salary range

The starting salary range for this position is between $82,900 - $103,700 per annum, based on your qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
