Communications & Design Project Lead – Part-time

• Start Date: July 1, 2025
• End Date: August 31, 2025
• Positions Available: One (1)
• Honorarium: $1000.00 per month (estimated 40 hours per month). This can be reviewed as the project progresses

Job Duties

The UTGSU is looking for a Communications and Design Lead to work on several design and layout projects requiring completion by August 31, 2025. The selected candidate will be required to layout and design a number of training and outreach documents (including developing data graphics and charts) for digital and print layout, including but not limited to:

• UTGSU Strategic Plan
• Cost of Living Survey Report
• Caucus and Course Union Training Manual
• Orientation Pamphlet

The selected candidate will also be asked to assist with photo editing. The Communications & Design Project Lead will be supervised by the UTGSU’s full-time Communications & Engagement Specialist.

Qualifications

The selected candidate will:

• Provide a demonstrated design and communication portfolio
• Be proficient in Adobe InDesign, including skills with AODA compliance
• Be proficient with photo editing software
• Have strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and provide weekly project reports
• Have reasonable skills in copyediting
• Video editing skills are an asset

Priority will be given to current graduate students; however, extensive experience in design, communications, and Adobe InDesign may outweigh student status in the selection process.
