We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Coordinator. This role will be based in our office in Oakville, ON, and reports to the Manager of Communications.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Communications Coordinator who will support the execution of the North American communication strategy to advance the vision, mission, and reputation of the organization both internally and externally. This individual will craft compelling narratives to drive employee engagement, enhance company culture, and build brand awareness.

Additionally, they will support and oversee the company's community investment and social impact program, ensuring strategic initiatives are effectively communicated and aligned with organizational objectives and values. This role is part of the North American region and the Global Group Communications team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching and writing original, engaging content to tell the IPEX story across multiple channels, including internal communications, social media, web copy, announcements, talking points, and more.
  • Creating communication materials to support managers and keep employees informed about company initiatives and activities.
  • Supporting and administering the community investment and social impact program, iCare, including evaluating applications, managing donations, and reporting.
  • Identifying opportunities within the iCare program to develop new content and initiatives to increase brand presence.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues at all levels to support organizational writing needs.
  • Managing timelines and processes to ensure timely content and program delivery.
  • Establishing and maintaining editorial calendars, guidelines, and best practices for all content.
  • Maintaining brand integrity by ensuring all content reflects the IPEX brand in style, quality, and tone.
  • Fostering relationships with internal and external partners, including senior leaders, employees, and community partners.
  • Supporting media event planning, including logistics and material preparation.
  • Developing visual communication materials such as posters, web pages, and short videos to enhance engagement and awareness.
  • Executing additional projects to support the North American Communications team’s success.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 13+ years of experience in a corporate communication writing role.
  • Strong understanding of proper grammar and Canadian Press Style guidelines.
  • Excellent writing, editing, interviewing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to write creatively and clearly, maintaining voice, tone, and branding.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with graphic design and video production is an asset.
  • Experience with SharePoint is an asset.
  • Experience working with a public company is an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
