Connectez-vous à votre compte McGill Workday et postulez à cette affichage en utilisant le rapport Find Jobs (tapez Find Jobs dans la barre de recherche).Position SummaryThe Faculty of Education is looking for a creative student with strong graphic design skills to help produce quality, engaging, and visually consistent communications materials for the Faculty's myriad of initiatives.Working directly under the supervision of the Senior Advisor Transformation and Culture, you will be involved in the development of a new graphic visual identity for the Faculty, creating materials that can be used for recurring and one-off purposes, with templates for both print and digital use. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills who can work within established McGill branding standards while bringing creativity and editorial sense to the Faculty.This is an opportunity to gain professional design experience, work on a wide variety of projects, and build a portfolio of communications materials produced in a university environment.ResponsibilitiesTranslate communications needs from the Supervisor and supplied information into clear, consistent, and inspired proposals.Design and edit promotional and communications materials for the Faculty, and at times for its departments and offices, for both digital engagement (social media, websites, display screens in physical spaces, etc.) and print.Produce materials such as logos, posters and flyers, brochures, invitations, eblasts, digital screen displays, reports, presentation documents (Canva, PowerPoint, etc.), and other print and digital assets.Liaise with different units under the supervision of the Senior Advisor Transformation and Culture to develop materials for them or assist them in their own work.Edit and organize a databank of assets, including graphic and motion designs, photographs and stock images, sounds and videos for use across Faculty communications efforts.Adapt existing designs and materials for different formats, audiences, and communications channels.Ensure consistency with McGill and Faculty branding, messaging, and visual standards.Review materials carefully for visual consistency, accuracy, and accessibility.Work with Faculty staff to gather the information and materials needed to complete design projects.Organize design files and assets so that they can be easily accessed and reused by unit delegates and other specific stakeholders.Keep up to date with contemporary graphic design practices and the software and tools needed to produce effective communications materials.Assist with photography, image, sound, and video editing, or other related visual communications tasks as needed.Assist with the physical posting of print materials across all Education Buildings.Other related communications tasks as required.QualificationsStrong graphic design skills and good editorial judgment within an institutional context.Ability to work quickly and prioritize competing demands.Demonstrated ability to create effective materials for both digital and print environments.Proven skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere, Audition).Proven Canva skills.Excellent and reliable attention to visual detail, including typography, layout, visual hierarchy, consistency, and accuracy.Ability to work within established branding guidelines while still producing engaging and creative work.Reliable and organized, with the ability to manage several projects, liaise with stakeholders with competing needs, and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and effectively while communicating questions to the supervisor before moving forward with final outputs, taking direction, and incorporating feedback.Photography or video production experience is an asset.Familiarity with accessibility considerations in digital communications is an asset.High-level proficiency in written French, including grammar.Only applications that include a portfolio and examples of graphic design work that demonstrate your graphic design experience and skills will be considered.Work study letter required.Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
