Job summary

CCS is seeking a Communication Specialist to act as the voice of the organization across blogs, pitches, releases, brochures, and social content. Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is required.
  • 3–5 years in personal finance or credit industry is required.
  • 2–3 years in communications, writing, or journalism.
  • Experience in media relations is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated; able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with social platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram).

What This Role Involves:

The Communication Specialist is the ‘voice’ of CCS, putting into words the great work that we do in a way that resonates with Canadians. Your role will be to use your financial industry knowledge to create compelling written collateral in the form of blog articles, media pitches, press releases, brochures, presentations, video scripts, and social media posts to increase awareness, consumer interaction, and knowledge, consistent with our overall marketing and awareness strategy. Your role is a key component of our overall marketing and awareness strategy, working collaboratively with other members of the Marketing & Community Engagement team.

What We Have To Offer:

The starting salary range for this role is $60,840 - $68,848, subject to change based on previous education, experience, and market location.

In addition, we offer an annual salary review process each January, so the successful candidate can expect to receive regular increases to their salary, subject to meeting established performance objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

The successful applicant for this position will bring the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is required, ideally in a related field such as business or communications.
  • Three to five years of experience in either the personal finance or credit industry is a requirement for this role.
  • Two to three years of experience in communications, writing, or journalism.
  • Previous experience working in a media relations capacity is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and exceptional written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Well‑organized and self‑motivated.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High proficiency in computer office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Good understanding of and interest in multiple social media platforms (e.g., X, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok).

Work Environment:

This is a full‑time position that requires you to have the ability to work on a hybrid basis, with 1‑2 days per week worked from the office and the remainder from your primary residence.
