Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our PURCHASING team as a:

COMMODITY MANAGER

This role involves strategic sourcing and procurement of critical commodities to drive consistency, quality, and cost-efficiency within our supply chain. The successful candidate will exhibit strategic negotiation skills, adept decision-making, and a commitment to cultivating strong partnerships within our global supply network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned commodities to maximize quality and efficiency.
• Negotiate favorable terms and reliable supply chains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of the supply chain, maintaining appropriate raw material inventories, coordinating and introducing ECNs, new parts/numbers into production, and working on cost recovery issues with suppliers.
• Ensure personal and team awareness of all quality and business-related operating systems (ISO/IATF).

Qualifications, Education and Skills We're Looking For

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; a combination of education, training, and years of experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement or commodity management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively work in a team-oriented environment.
• Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement in supply chain management.
• Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to achieving high standards.
• Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and processes.
