BBA Consultants in Ontario, Canada, is seeking a seasoned Engineering Project Lead to drive major commissioning and startup efforts across our energy and natural resources projects. You’ll lead the team on-site, develop plans, and ensure safe, efficient operations from pre-commissioning to startup.

You’ll supervise client teams and subcontractors, coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, quality and safety, and mentor the next generation of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with OIQ membership.
• Strong commissioning or construction background.
• Knowledge of process systems.
• Proven leadership and client-service skills.
• Ability to work remotely or in remote locations.

Responsabilités

• Lead and direct pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup activities at the work site.
• Develop commissioning and startup plans and schedules with the project team.
• Manage the BBA team and client/subcontractor assignments.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, quality, safety and owner representatives.
• Ensure overall facility safety and operational readiness tasks.
• Provide troubleshooting support to engineering and expert teams.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and executing safe and efficient commissioning activities and plant operations.

• Determine organizational and work force requirements (expatriates, local and subcontracted personnel) to meet facility objectives
• Develop the commissioning and startup plan documentation
• Develop the commissioning and start-up schedule, as per project completion schedules, working closely with the project team
• Direct the pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup activities at the work site
• Direct the BBA team, client personnel and subcontractor assigned to the project commissioning team
• Identify supplier support needs for process equipment commissioning
• Review test procedures from suppliers and ensure proper completion
• Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Quality, Safety and the Owner’s designated representatives, as required
• Implement procedures to deliver overall facility safety and that of its personnel
• Assist the engineering and expert teams with troubleshooting
• Help the client identify operational readiness tasks and documentation for plant operation
• Provide feedback and optimization recommendations to the engineering team and client

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and member in good standing with the OIQ
• Knowledge of process systems
• A strong commissioning or construction background
• Demonstrated leadership skills, which include the ability to lead, direct, motivate and supervise team members
• Effective soft, organizational, communication and client service skills
• Ability to think strategically, troubleshoot and multi-task
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
