Job summary

BrokerLink Inc. in Canada is looking for an Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Lines, to join a growing team. You will handle endorsements and cancellations, assist underwriters, and collaborate with brokers to apply underwriting strategies and maintain positive partnerships.

The role supports policy inquiries, electronic filing, and rating transactions, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. A post-secondary background in insurance or business and strong MS Office skills are required; two

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in insurance, business or a related field is an asset
• 2 years of relevant experience in insurance, business or a related field is preferred
• Strong typing skills to process daily work
• Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Initiative and ability to work under pressure
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer tools
• Team player
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance policy endorsements and cancellations.
• Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously.
• Assist Underwriters with the administration of complex policies.
• Apply underwriting strategies in accordance with company guidelines and personal underwriting authority limits.
• Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies.
• Work closely to develop and maintain positive business partnerships with brokers and co-workers.
• Use the computer system for policy inquiry, electronic filing, underwriting and rating transactions.
• Make recommendations to improve the department and increase its efficiency.
