Job summary

AltaGas is seeking a Commercial Optimization Co-op Student in Calgary for an 8‑month program. You will support day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy across the Midstream platform, collaborating with front-office teams to add value through rigorous analysis.

You will develop modelling capabilities, prepare regular reports, and help build new analytical methods while gaining mentorship and exposure to real business decisions in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree in Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on efficiency, practical problem-solving, and delivering effective solutions.
• A strong desire to learn, with the confidence to ask thoughtful questions and build a deeper understanding of the business.

Responsibilities

• Support large-scale modelling efforts for AltaGas’ LPG Exports, Supply, and Marketing businesses
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute various daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Contribute to building new analytical methods and associated processes
• Assist other front-office & planning teams as necessary
