Job summary

Cordeiro Roofing Ltd. is hiring experienced Commercial Flat Roofers to join a unionized team serving the Greater Toronto Area.

The role covers installation, repair, and maintenance of BUR, modified bitumen, and single-ply membranes on commercial, industrial, and occupied-building projects. Candidates should have at least two years of flat roofing experience, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and demonstrate strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of commercial flat roofing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ontario Working at Heights certification required or able to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures on roofing sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial flat roofing systems.
• Apply BUR, modified bitumen, and single-ply membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM).
• Install insulation, cover boards, vapor barriers, and membranes.
• Perform roof tear-offs and substrate preparation.
• Install flashings, curbs, drains, expansion joints, and sheet metal components.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site instructions.
• Follow all company, client, and safety requirements.
• Work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Quality control inspections and site cleanliness.

Wage:

$43.22 per hour (F/T – 30 hours per week) Wages and benefits in accordance with the Roofers Local 30 Collective Agreement.

Job Description:

Cordeiro Roofing Ltd. is seeking experienced Commercial Flat Roofers to join our unionized roofing team. We specialize in commercial, industrial, institutional, & occupied-building reroofing projects throughout the GTA.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial flat roofing systems.
• Apply built-up roofing (BUR), modified bitumen, and single-ply membrane systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM).
• Install insulation, cover boards, vapor barriers, and roofing membranes.
• Perform roof tear-offs and substrate preparation.
• Install flashings, curbs, drains, expansion joints, and related sheet metal components.
• Operate roofing equipment and hand tools safely.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site instructions.
• Follow all company, client, and safety requirements.
• Work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Complete quality control inspections and maintain clean work areas.
• Measure, cut, fit and secure roofing materials according to specifications.
• Waterproof roof penetrations, flashing details and roof terminations.
• Inspect completed roofing work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Load, unload and transport roofing materials and equipment to and from work areas.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas at all times.

Job Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of commercial flat roofing experience installing modified bitumen, BUR, EPDM, TPO and/or PVC roofing systems.
• Experience with torch-applied and self-adhered roofing systems considered an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Knowledge of commercial roofing safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license considered an asset.
• Must possess or be able to successfully obtain Ontario Working at Heights certification before commencing work.
• Secondary school completion is considered an asset.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Hand-eye co-ordination, physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads; Large workload, Repetitive tasks, overtime required, work under pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime may be required.
