Job description

Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) is helping redefine how one of North America’s most dynamic cities moves. Green P remains one of the city’s most trusted and recognizable brands, and TPA is leveraging that foundation to create new opportunities in transportation, mobility, and customer experience.

Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement, the Commercial Director will play a critical role in shaping and delivering TPA’s growth agenda. This is an opportunity for an accomplished commercial leader to help build the future of a respected public organization that has an operation mindset, pace, and ambition of a modern growth enterprise. The successful candidate will lead revenue generation efforts across TPA’s core parking business while identifying and developing new opportunities, partnerships, and services that strengthen the organization’s position within Toronto’s evolving mobility ecosystem.

The Commercial Director will be responsible for driving business development, cultivating strategic partnerships, expanding key accounts, and providing oversight to marketing and brand initiatives. Working closely with senior leadership, municipal stakeholders, private-sector partners, and customers, they will develop and execute commercial strategies that accelerate growth while supporting TPA’s broader mission of creating seamless mobility experiences for the city. The role will also bring greater discipline and rigor to go-to-market planning, sales execution, partnership development, and commercial performance management.

This leader will inherit a growing and evolving team and will be expected to mentor, develop, and inspire colleagues while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer focus. Equally important, they will serve as a visible ambassador for TPA, building relationships across industry, real estate, transportation, and mobility sectors. As TPA continues to modernize its technology platforms, expand its integrated mobility offerings, and pursue new commercial opportunities, the Commercial Director will help identify where the organization can grow, partner, and innovate.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and commercially sophisticated leader who has built a career around creating growth. They bring a strong track record of business development, partnership creation, revenue generation, and team leadership within organizations where commercial success depends on the ability to identify opportunities, influence stakeholders, and deliver results. They are entrepreneurial, resilient, and comfortable operating in environments that are complex and highly visible.

Candidates should have substantial experience leading commercial, sales, business development, or partnership functions and a demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed growth objectives. They possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, strong commercial and financial acumen, and the credibility to engage effectively with senior executives, community stakeholders, customers, and partners. Experience within mobility, transportation, infrastructure, real estate, parking, technology, or similarly adjacent sectors will be highly valued, as will an appreciation for the opportunities and complexities that exist at the intersection of public service and commercial growth.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join an organization entering a pivotal chapter of its evolution. TPA is investing in modern parking technologies, expanding Bike Share Toronto and EV charging capabilities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and pursuing new ways to integrate mobility services across the city. The Commercial Director will have the opportunity to influence that future while helping one of Toronto’s most recognizable public brands unlock its next phase of growth and impact.
