Job description

Construction Project Manager

Established General Contractor located in Vancouver, WA, has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and motivated Construction Project Manager. This role supports multiple projects across several states (including Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois), primarily in the casual dining market sector. Candidates should have thorough knowledge of construction across all disciplines and phases, including new construction and rehabilitation.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Provide leadership and management of construction teams.
  2. Interact directly and effectively with Clients, Architects, Subcontractors, Vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring superior customer service and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Solicit, secure, and evaluate subcontractors and proposals.
  4. Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules.
  5. Develop, execute, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders with detailed scopes of work.
  6. Manage change order and RFI processes.
  7. Review and distribute submittals, and assess architectural, structural, civil documents for completeness and constructability.
  8. Manage project budgets, financial forecasting, and client payment applications.
  9. Provide pre-construction planning and oversee project coordinators.
  10. Assist with estimating, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. 4-5+ years of direct construction project management experience, specifically in the wood-framed casual dining sector.
  2. Proven ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and city officials.
  3. Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  4. Proficiency in plan reading, material take-offs, contract writing, and submittal review.
  5. Track record of managing profitable, timely projects.
  6. Excellent computer skills and ability to multitask across several projects.
  7. Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  9. Ability to travel to job sites as needed (minimal travel expected).
Software Requirements:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, Zoom, Blue Beam Revu, SmartBid, and Sage Construction Management.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred but not required.
  2. Previous field experience in construction.
  3. Desire for continuous learning and adaptability to rapid change.
