In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement of quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Supervisor or designate, the Laboratory Combined Technologist:

1. Receives and completes requisitions, forms, and reports;
2. Monitors patients;
3. Performs general imaging procedures, as qualified, including archiving acquired images;
4. Carries out routine Laboratory and ECG testing, as qualified;
5. Utilizes computerized patient data systems;
6. Prepares and monitors supplies and equipment.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

Graduation from a recognized combined Laboratory/Medical Radiography Technician Program; one (1) year recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
