Job description

Randstad is searching for a Collections Specialist for one of our thriving Mississauga clients. The ideal candidate must have at least three years’ experience with high volume Collections. They should have experience communicating with clients regarding delinquent accounts, preparing and sending collection e-mails, obtaining information for clients, negotiating payment plans, researching, analyzing and resolving problems, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with appropriate billing issues. Experience reaching out to clients (call centre environment) and a strong understanding of accounting is required.


This is a part-time position with afternoon/evening shifts. This is also a hybrid role with some work-from-home days.

Responsibilities
  1. Work the queue properly and ensure the proper individuals are informed of issues when needed.
  2. Make sure accounts are followed up on within the proper time frame until final resolution.
  3. Ensure high-risk accounts are monitored and escalated when needed.
  4. Gather facts and info on accounts and analyze the info to provide proper solutions to customers.
  5. Complete paperwork and other action items as required to process account extensions, rewrites, bailiff assignments, and closures related to repossessed accounts.
  6. Provide support to other team members in the department.
  7. Communicate/work with other departments to resolve matters.
  8. Work with Team Leader and other team members to improve existing processes and uncover ways to manage the department more efficiently.
  9. Complete internal control audits and monthly reconciliation of internal reports.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience in the finance industry.
  2. Previous experience in Customer Service and Collections.
  3. Commercial Finance experience preferred.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
