Job summary

Ciena in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Coherent Plug NPI Program Manager to drive cross‑functional collaboration among R&D and Operations Engineering, coordinating development, manufacturing readiness and ramp activities for volume production.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in project management, with a solid background in optical/electrical test principles and proven cross‑functional leadership, organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Application of optical and electrical test engineering principles.
• Cross-functional leadership across engineering and operations teams.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects involving cross-functional R&D and Operations Engineering teams.
• Define deliverables and schedules with clear milestones with stakeholders.
• Maintain tracking of operational deliverables critical to program success.
• Review plans, communicate changes and risks, and establish contingency plans.
• Manage prototype builds within Ciena laboratories and contract manufacturing environments.
• Coordinate production readiness activities to enable ramp execution.
