Job summary

Bridgehead Corp. in Ottawa is seeking a Coffee House Shift Supervisor to lead daily operations, motivate teammates, and uphold Bridgehead standards of quality and hospitality.

You will coach baristas, ensure a welcoming guest experience, and maintain safe, organized store conditions while promoting teamwork and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a Shift Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Strong hospitality mindset with customer focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and support others.
• Physically capable to stand, walk and lift up to 40 kg.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and ensure seamless operations in the manager’s absence.
• Motivate and guide team members to deliver warm, genuine hospitality and outstanding coffee experiences.
• Model Bridgehead standards for cleanliness, quality, and efficiency.
• Train, coach and mentor Baristas to ensure consistency and skill development.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive team culture that promotes collaboration and growth.
• Anticipate and respond to customer needs with professionalism and care.
• Support accurate record-keeping, cash handling, and adherence to procedures.
• Lead by example through professionalism, reliability and punctuality.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed for customers and team members.

Position: Coffee House Shift Supervisor

Location: 150 Slater St at, O'Connor St, Ottawa, ON K1P 5M9

Starting Pay: $18.95 per hour + tips

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a Shift Supervisor or similar leadership role
• A professional, customer-focused hospitality mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player with the ability to lead, motivate, and support others
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Physically fit to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 40 kg during a shift
• Consistent punctuality, reliability, and accountability
• Flexibility regarding store location and hours of work
• Certified Food Handler Certificate (required before contract signing)
• Certified First Aid/CPR
• Post-secondary training in Hospitality, Business, or Management
• Passion for coffee, tea, and sustainable trade practices
• Creativity, humor, and a positive attitude
• Integrity, openness, and kindness in every interaction
