Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is offering a Winter 2027 co-op in Software Engineering for 4–8 months. The role focuses on hands-on software development across C++, C, Java, and Python, under senior engineer guidance.

You will gain experience across the full lifecycle, including testing and documentation, while contributing to mission-critical systems in a defence context. Eligible students must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution for co-op.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, analysis, and implementation of software features.
• Develop, maintain and document software in C++, C, Java, Python.
• Support integration with third-party equipment and internal systems.
• Participate in unit, integration, and verification testing and document results.
• Prepare technical documentation such as requirements and test plans.
